Overview
Have you heard of the Performance Asset Training Hub (PATH) training process? We developed this process, which has since been recognised and acknowledged by industry awards, to integrate seamlessly with ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) Safety Rules.
So, how does it work? We start with a formal interview process, assessing a candidate against the set requirements. We then take this information to run a gap analysis to develop a training programme, the modules of which may include:
- Classroom based lessons: Typically used to explain the theory and background to the processes and the technology used.
- On-site training: Proving the application of the theory.
To ensure each candidate gets the most out of their process, the entire PATH course is supported by an individually selected candidate mentor, who will adjust the programme to set each candidate up for success. This process results in an authorisation panel, where interviews are conducted by peers to verify an understanding of requirements.
Over the past year, I have had the great pleasure and opportunity to partake in the PATH training programme provided by Offshore NRG for my current employer. The training provided focused on all aspects required for me to progress my career within the renewable HV industry as a Senior Authorised Person. I feel PATH training is well-structured, informative and an enjoyable way to develop your skill set within a working environment.
