During a recent offshore array cable failure ONRG personnel were immediately made available to lead the management of the fault-finding process, perform the testing and support the client’s team. Our in-depth proven knowledge of the HV network enabled our team to optimise the approach to ensure safety, rapidly develop a site-specific testing procedure, implement the testing to locate the fault and restore healthy parts of the network back into service.

Fault management
Rapid cable fault location is significantly more than just having the test equipment, especially in an offshore environment. ONRG has the expertise to take a holistic view of fault management from determining if the fault is genuine to managing the teams in the field, whilst recognising this all occurs with the client’s other operational demands.
Safety Management
ONRG works seamlessly within the client’s safety system of work and electrical & mechanical safety rules. We have extensive experience of working within a number of Electrical & Mechanical safety rule systems and as such we are both quickly able to integrate ourselves into client’s processes but also use our knowledge and experience to optimise the approach to the work. Optionally we can adopt part of the network & implement the ONRG Electrical & Mechanical safety rules.

Consultancy
A proactive response is required to truly mitigate the losses associated with a cable fault. ONRG’s portfolio of experience includes both preparing contingency plans and as well as scenario training. Scenario training can range from a desktop exercise to verify your processes to a full-blown field trial.
